Otto is an AI assistant you message on WhatsApp. The server does the reasoning; a thin Android app makes alarms ring over the lockscreen, through Doze and after a reboot.
Key facts
- OpenAI agent, 27 tools
- HMAC-signed pushes, fail-safe sync
- 149 commits, ~80 test files
What it does
- Alarms that ring on your phone, set by message.
- Reminders on twelve escalation ladders that chase you until they're done.
- Leave-by alarms priced with live traffic.
- Also: Calendar and Tasks, transcribed voice notes and quiet hours.
How it's built
- Server: a WhatsApp webhook, an OpenAI agent with 27 tools, SQLite and a scheduler.
- The app decides nothing: it arms alarms from HMAC-signed push messages.
- Fail-safe sync: Room is the source of truth, so a bad server response can't silently delete an alarm.
